Rosette Baby Shower Cake
So in love with this cake. It’s romantic, and beautiful texture makes just about everyone smile. I also think this is one of the easiest cakes to decorate. No fuss, easy to decorate. Rosettes are not perfect or all the same which is why this cake piping technique is pretty easy. When finished it will look pretty and elegant.
Although the shower was masculine as ‘a little man’ is on his way any day. I wanted to make a cake that fit into the theme colours and was feminine for the sweet Mommy-to-be. This cake can also be piped pretty fast by an inexperienced or experienced cake decorator.
Finished cake and cupcakes with Marshmallow Fondant Bows.
This cupcake tower was given to me for Christmas by a friend who purchased it at Homesense. I have since found the matching cake stand there. How lucky.
I used 3 colours of food colouring to colour the Vanilla cake batter, to match. Wilton gel food colours used were Royal Blue, Sky Blue, and Leaf Green.
Extra cupcake liners were purchased so that they could be displayed sitting in the coordinating liner as after baking the liner isn’t so beautiful.
Homemade Marshmallow fondant to make the bow-ties with. Brushed with silver edible sugar glitter/shimmer. (Sold at Michael’s)
I keep brushes in my icing kit just for this purpose.
Everyone thought it was quite fun to open up the cake and see the tri-colour cakes.
